To achieve the right negative ease for your socks, follow these general guidelines:
Adult socks
- foot and calf circumference = actual - 1″ / 2.5 cm
- foot length = actual foot length - 0.5″ / 1.5
Children’s socks
- foot and calf circumference = actual - 0.5″ / 1.5 cm
- foot length = actual - 0.25″ / 0.63 cm ~ 0.5″ / 1.5 cm
